Fall is officially here- with a new season comes many new opportunities, and it is a great time to prioritize self-care and set up a new routine, or set of rituals that ground, center and calm you.
As a result of establishing a simple routine, I set the tone for my day and can check in with my mind, body and soul.
I believe that setting up and sticking to a set of intentional rituals is a radical act of self-love.
Here are the five rituals I incorporate into my day.
Hydration- Water is essential to human life, and our bodies need it to function correctly. We are made up of about 60% water, and our bodies cannot produce enough; therefore, we need to get it through drinking water and eating certain foods to ensure we stay hydrated. I try to drink at least 3-4L/ day! Adding Chloropyhyll or LMNT Packets is a great way to get added health benefits from your water.
Movement- Moving my body is a daily non-negotiable for me. Whether it be through Walking or Pilates, I consciously move my body every day because I feel much better mentally and physically.
Fresh Air- Getting outside and breathing the fresh air is such an incredible way to connect to yourself. Breathing in the fresh air helps clean your lungs and gives you more energy and a sharper mind.
Skincare - Doing a nightly skincare routine is my favourite way to unwind and disconnect from the day. I try to be present and take deep breaths while washing my face, putting on my serums etc., instead of rushing through the process- for some extra TLC, I will use my facial tools. The Wildling Gua Sha is my favourite!
Legs Up The Wall- This is a beautiful way to bring your nervous system into a state of parasympathetic, which is the rest, digestion and healing condition before bed. As a bonus, you get all the benefits of lymphatic drainage with this position.
I find these ground me and improve my mood and motivation throughout the day. Always remember that the most successful routine and set of rituals are the ones that work for YOU and your lifestyle- don't forget that!
On that note, I would love to know your favourite rituals.
